Has Your Perspective Changed Since Focusing On Your Blessings? Let's Reflect. Part 2

Today we will be going over if and how your perspective has changed after implementing the daily habits to focus on your blessings from last week. I pair this with prayer, scripture, and reflection.

This episode is part 2 of a 2 part series on focus and perspective. If you haven't checked out part 1 from last week make sure you go and check that out first. Once you have really reflected and practiced the 3 daily habits that I provided in part 1 then come back to this episode, because if you just go straight to this part 2 it's not going to make any sense.

First I want to say a quick prayer.... Lord I pray that you lift up every single person reading this right now. I pray that you open up our eyes to see the truth of your words. I pray that you open up our minds and our ears to really soak in everything in this episode and all of the truth that you're speaking into our life Lord. I pray that we have a new perspective on life, that we're focusing on the blessings that you've given us and on all of the amazing things that you've done, that our perspective has changed, and that you just continue to mold us into the person that you have planned for us to be. I love you with my whole heart. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Now let's go straight into some scripture:

"Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever." -Psalm 23:6

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

-Romans 8:28

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will." -Romans 12:2

So whenever we focus on the blessings that God has given us, the goodness of God, how amazing he is, and we seek the truth of God's words, then our mind will start to be renewed. We won't be conformed any longer to the patterns of this world, to the worldly desires and the materialistic things, but our focus and our perspective will be on heavenly things. When we focus on heavenly things and we focus on our blessings and the great things that God has given us, goodness will follow us all the days of our lives.

Now that we went into part 1 on focus last week and we've been focusing on the 3 daily habits from that episode, we should be able to see that our perspective has been changing. For this episode I really want to get into some reflection on the changes that we've seen in our perspective throughout this past week of us focusing on our blessings, being thankful, and seeing the goodness of God. So get out a piece of paper and a pen because you want to write down these things and really just reflect.

Here's some things to reflect on:

1. What difference did doing the 3 daily habits make in your day-to-day life?

-So what difference did it make by writing down your blessings, thanking God, and reminding yourself of his goodness every day?

-Did you see any difference? Did it help you focus on the positive? Were you still focused on the negative? Did it make your day a little brighter? Did it help with the way that you deal with others and with your patience? How did it affect your day to day life overall? I want you to really just write down and reflect on that.

2. Did something happen that was out of your control last week?

-So think back to all the things last week that happened, was there something in specific (or maybe there were several things) that happened that you couldn't control or that you didn't expect to happen?

-I want you to really think about this for a minute and you can just put yes or no, because if something did happen out of your control then we have a follow up question to that.

3. So if something did happen that was out of your control or something unexpected, how did you react to that?

-Did you automatically focus on all the negative of that situation? Did you start letting fear, doubt, and worry creep in? Or did you start changing your perspective? Did you start focusing on the positive? Did you pray about it? Did you think about the great things that's happened?

-There's no right or wrong answer when we're going through this reflection, it's just to help you to see the way that you're dealing with things that are out of your control and to really help with changing your focus and your perspective. So be honest with yourself because you're not going to be able to grow if you're not honest with yourself.

4. Follow-up question to your reaction: Was your reaction to this situation or thing that was out of your control different than it would have been without doing the daily habits from last week or was it the same?

-So really just reflect and think if the way that you reacted to whatever situation happened last week that was out of your control was the same way you would have reacted to it a couple of weeks ago before you did the daily habits, or did you react differently and how did you react differently to it?

After really reflecting and seeing the way that these 3 daily habits from last week made a difference, I know that I can see for sure that whenever I focus on my blessings and on heavenly things that my perspective starts to change. The way that I react to things also start to change. Hopefully you can see that too after doing your reflection. I'm not saying that whenever we focus on our blessings, when we focus on heavenly things, and we try to think positive, that everything's going to be perfect in our life. I'm not saying that at all, because that's just never going to happen. We're going to have troubles in this world. We're going to have all of these worldly emotions. We are all humans, we're all sinners, and none of us are perfect, but the things that we focus on are very important and it's going to help with our perspective and the habits that we make in our life. That is why I put those 3 daily habits from last week, because the habits that we make really determine the way that our day is going to go. It doesn't control our day, but it helps determine the way that our day is going to go.

So I hope this episode has helped you to really reflect on your perspective and the way that you look at things. I also hope that you continue every single day to do those 3 daily habits from last week and really just focus on your blessings, because that's going to help. Hopefully you've seen from the reflection that that is going to help you with the way that you see things in your day-to-day life and the way that you react to things that happen in your day-to-day life.

Next week we're going to go into prioritizing Jesus in our daily life. So if you have a busy schedule or you just have been having troubles with getting your priorities straight and really focusing on having a relationship with Christ, make sure you stay tuned for next week's episode.

I love you guys so much.
