Prayer of Consecration. Part 2 of the 8 Different Types of Prayers

ree

In today's episode we will be going into the prayer of consecration. So this is the 2nd type of prayer that we've gone over in our 8 part series. If you haven't checked out my last two episodes, make sure you check those out. The first one was an introduction on prayer. I went over when to pray and all of the good things about prayer. Then last week we went into the prayer of faith. So this week we're gonna going to go into the prayer of consecration. I'm going to get into the definition of it and I'm going to pair it with scripture.

First, I want to say a quick prayer: "LORD, I pray that you lift up every single person reading this right now. Please open up our eyes, ears, hearts, and minds to you LORD. I pray that whatever it is that each person is supposed to receive from this episode, that they receive it and they implement in in their daily lives. Holy Spirit consume me and move me to do the will of God the Father. I pray that you help me remove myself from this message today and give me the words to speak. Thank you heavenly Father for every single thing that You've done. Thank you Jesus, for always being right here with us, for the ultimate sacrifice that you made for us on the cross, for your love, compassion, and your mercy, and for teaching us how we should live. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for showing me truth, for guiding us and protecting us. Thank you for everything that you do LORD. I love You with every ounce of my being. In Jesus' name, Amen."

What is the prayer of consecration?

According to Google, the prayer of consecration is: "A personal prayer, which an individual or community dedicates themselves in their belongings to God.."

So in this prayer of consecration, we should be praying that God will align our will with His will. In this prayer of consecration, we would say, "LORD, I want your will and not mine." We submit all of our plans and our desires for the future to God's will. So this is not a prayer of us asking the Lord "if it's your will, it'll be done," because we already know what God's will is in scripture. If you don't know what God's will is in scripture, I highly recommend that you just go through scripture, and look at some Bible verses. You can even Google Bible verses about God's will for us and we can see God's will in scripture. So in this prayer of consecration, we're not asking the Lord, "please do all of these things for us, but if it's your will, if it's not your will, then don't let it happen." No, we are asking the Lord to match our desires with His desires, to align our will with His will so that whatever we are praying will be in the Lord's will. We surrender everything to Him and we are praying for his good, His pleasing, and His perfect will.

Okay, I'm going to interrupt this episode just for a minute because I just want to say that I am so grateful for you guys. I am just blown away by your generosity and how much love and support I have from you guys is so incredible. I can't thank you guys enough for everything. Because of the generosity of a few of you guys, I have been able to completely surpass the first deadline for my mission projects.

So if you don't know, I'm going to Brazil, Paraguay, Thailand and Albania next year. We are going to be going to schools, markets, streets, and neighborhoods spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. We're going to do community projects, service projects, and just have one-on-one personal conversations with people spreading the gospel. Also we will be having crusades at night where thousands of people are going to get to hear the true simple gospel and be able to be saved and healed by Jesus Christ.

Our first deadline was November 1st. I had to get the $300 deposit for all of my trips. So it was a total of $900 that I needed to raise, and we completely surpassed that before the deadline. I just want to thank you guys so much for that. So now our next goal is 65% of the funds, and it's due by January 31st. So as I'm making this video today, we have raised $1,830 and I still need $5,433.75. That number may seem like a lot. I know it seems like a lot to me, but if just 40 people were to give $136 one time or $46 per month, I would be able to reach that goal by January 31st.

So here are some ways that you can partner with me in this:

  1. Pray

    - Prayer is a vital part of our life, and it's so important for me to have as many prayer warriors as I possibly can while I'm going on these different mission projects and doing all these different things around the world. But also just having ministry here in Oklahoma and going to the School of Missions, I need prayer warriors by my side.

    - So please pray for me and also let me know how I can pray for you. This is a partnership and I want to pray for you as well. There may be specific needs that you have in your life or specific things that you need prayers for. Let me know so I can partner with you in prayer.

  2. Give financially

    - Whatever that looks like for you, just pray and ask the Lord to open up your heart to know exactly what you should do. Is it should you just be praying for me, which is amazing, or is the Lord prompting you to give financially?

    - Whatever number that looks like that's between you and the Lord. With going on these different mission projects and traveling around the world spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, that takes funds. This is not funds that I just readily have that I can fund myself for all of these projects.

    - So however you feel led by the Lord to partner with me, I just want to say in advance, thank you so much for your support, your love, and just being here reading these blogs.

    - If you do want to give financially, you can go to https://give.globalventures.tv/ and type in my name (Lorena Espy) in the search bar. Then click on "donate on Pushpay," and then you'll go fill out the form and make sure in the memo line that you put my name.

    - So again, I just want to thank you guys so much. You guys are awesome. I love you guys, and I just cannot wait to see what all God has in store with these mission projects. It's just so incredible to see how God is already moving with the ministry that I'm doing here with the school and I know He's going to continue to move in such a big way. I'm just so grateful that I get to partner with you guys in this and I can't wait to partner with more of you guys throughout this journey.

Alright, now let's get back to the prayer of consecration..

Let's get into some scripture:

"Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will travel to such and such a city and spend a year there and do business and make a profit.” Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring—what your life will be! For you are like vapor that appears for a little while, then vanishes. Instead, you should say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” -James 4:13-15

"Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." -Matthew 6:10

So this verse is part of the Lord's prayer.

"This is the confidence we have before him: If we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears whatever we ask, we know that we have what we have asked of him." -1 John 5:14-15

So we know based on the scriptures that I just read, that if we ask according to God's will, He will hear us. So whenever we're praying this prayer of concentration, we're asking for the Lord's will to be done. We're asking for Him to match our will with His will and to align our desires with His desires, so that we start to desire the things that He desires for us. So that we start to desire what He desires instead of what our flesh desires. We can see in the Bible what God's will is., so when we're doing the prayer of consecration, dig into your Bible, get some scriptures of God's will, and pray for God's will to be done in different aspects of life.

So that is it for today's episode. These episodes during this series are going to be shorter than some of my past episodes, because I really want you guys to take some time after these episodes to implement praying in the ways that we're going over. So if you haven't ever prayed the prayer of consecration, start implementing that. If you haven't prayed the prayer of faith, start implementing that. If you haven't prayed at all, go back to my first episode where I go over prayer, how you can pray, when you should pray, and just start doing those things. Prayer is such a crucial part of our everyday life. It's something that we should be doing on a constant everyday basis and it is our lifeline to God. So that is it for today's episode. Make sure you stay tuned for next week, we're going to go into the prayer of agreement. So I will see you guys next week.

I love you guys so much.

Never forget to choose faith over fear.
