The Prayer of Agreement. Part 3 of the 8 Different Types of Prayers

ree

In today's episode we will be going into the prayer of agreement. So this is the 3rd type of prayer that we've gone over in our 8 part series. If you haven't checked out my last 3 episodes, make sure you check those out. The first one was an introduction on prayer. I went over when to pray and all of the good things about prayer. The second week we went into the prayer of faith. Last week we went into the prayer of consecration. So today we're going to be going all into the prayer of agreement. I'm going to get into the definition of it and I'm going to pair it with scripture.

First, I want to say a quick prayer: "LORD, I pray that you lift up every single person reading this right now. Please open up our eyes to see the truth of your words. I pray that you open up our ears, hearts, and minds to you LORD. I pray that you show us the people around us that have open hearts for you and that love you with all of their hearts, and that we can partner with an agreement for certain things. I pray that whatever it is that each person is supposed to receive from this episode, that they receive it and they implement in in their daily lives. Holy Spirit consume me and give me the words to speak. I love You with every ounce of my being. In Jesus' name, Amen."

What is the prayer of agreement?

According to Google, the prayer of agreement is: "A collaborative prayer where two or more people unite their faith to ask for something based on the biblical principle that when believers agree on earth in prayer, their heavenly Father will answer."

Let's get into some scripture:

"Again, truly I tell you, if two of you on earth agree about any matter that you pray for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there among them.” -Matthew 18:19-20

So with the prayer of agreement, this is where two or more people are gathered together and they are agreeing for a specific thing/s that they are praying for. In this verse, this is Jesus talking. When two people come together and agree about anything that they're praying for, our Father in heaven will answer us.

"They all were continually united in prayer, along with the women, including Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers." -Acts 1:14

So whenever you are agreeing with someone, whenever you are in a prayer of agreement with another person or maybe multiple people, when there is true agreement, there is a perfect harmony. It makes a symphony. That means that no instruments are out of tune, that we are all agreeing for the same thing in perfect harmony. This is why it's so important on who you ask to agree with you, because there may be some people that you want to pray for a specific thing and they say that they're going to agree with you, but in their heart they really don't believe it. So if you're not completely in agreement with that person and they're not agreeing with you, then their unbelief can water down the effectiveness of the prayer. You have to make sure that you are agreeing with people that are in complete agreement with you for this specific thing.

One of the most effective ways to do this type of prayer is to pray in agreement based on specific scriptures. So if there's certain things that you're praying for, maybe for the future or things that are happening in your life, get in the word and look at the scriptures. What does Jesus say about the things that you're praying for? What does God's words say about what you're praying for? Pray those scriptures out loud and have someone on your side or multiple people on your side that are going to be in complete agreement with you. Me and my roommate Lauren do this prayer all the time together. I just want to say that I am so blessed that the Lord gave me Lauren. I have never had a friend that I can just pray in complete agreement with like this. We worship and pray together all the time. She's such a prayer warrior and I'm so blessed for that. Everyone needs a Lauren to be able to pray with them. It's great to have someone on your side that's like, "Yes, that is going to happen in Jesus' name," with authority and completely agreeing with the things that we're praying for and just being in complete agreement the whole time we're praying. There are times that we fast and pray. Maybe we want an answer for certain things that we're asking for or direction or guidance or whatever the case is. We will just sit and pray in agreement and pray scripture over that and just continue to agree on the thing until we get the answer.

Okay, I'm going to interrupt this episode just for a minute because I just want to say that I am so grateful for you guys. I am just blown away by your generosity and how much love and support I have from you guys is so incredible. I can't thank you guys enough for everything. Because of the generosity of a few of you guys, I have been able to completely surpass the first deadline for my mission projects.

So if you don't know, I'm going to Brazil, Paraguay, Thailand and Albania next year. We are going to be going to schools, markets, streets, and neighborhoods spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. We're going to do community projects, service projects, and just have one-on-one personal conversations with people spreading the gospel. Also we will be having crusades at night where thousands of people are going to get to hear the true simple gospel and be able to be saved and healed by Jesus Christ.

Our first deadline was November 1st. I had to get the $300 deposit for all of my trips. So it was a total of $900 that I needed to raise, and we completely surpassed that before the deadline. I just want to thank you guys so much for that. So now our next goal is 65% of the funds, and it's due by January 31st. So as I'm making this video today, we have raised $1,830 and I still need $5,433.75. That number may seem like a lot. I know it seems like a lot to me, but if just 40 people were to give $136 one time or $46 per month, I would be able to reach that goal by January 31st.

So here are some ways that you can partner with me in this:

  1. Pray

    - Prayer is a vital part of our life, and it's so important for me to have as many prayer warriors as I possibly can while I'm going on these different mission projects and doing all these different things around the world. But also just having ministry here in Oklahoma and going to the School of Missions, I need prayer warriors by my side.

    - So please pray for me and also let me know how I can pray for you. This is a partnership and I want to pray for you as well. There may be specific needs that you have in your life or specific things that you need prayers for. Let me know so I can partner with you in prayer.

  2. Give financially

    - Whatever that looks like for you, just pray and ask the Lord to open up your heart to know exactly what you should do. Is it should you just be praying for me, which is amazing, or is the Lord prompting you to give financially?

    - Whatever number that looks like that's between you and the Lord. With going on these different mission projects and traveling around the world spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, that takes funds. This is not funds that I just readily have that I can fund myself for all of these projects.

    - So however you feel led by the Lord to partner with me, I just want to say in advance, thank you so much for your support, your love, and just being here reading these blogs.

    - If you do want to give financially, you can go to https://give.globalventures.tv/ and type in my name (Lorena Espy) in the search bar. Then click on "donate on Pushpay," and then you'll go fill out the form and make sure in the memo line that you put my name.

    - So again, I just want to thank you guys so much. You guys are awesome. I love you guys, and I just cannot wait to see what all God has in store with these mission projects. It's just so incredible to see how God is already moving with the ministry that I'm doing here with the school and I know He's going to continue to move in such a big way. I'm just so grateful that I get to partner with you guys in this and I can't wait to partner with more of you guys throughout this journey.

Alright, now let's get back to the prayer of agreement.

"Can two walk together without agreeing to meet?" -Amos 3:3

So it's that picture of walking together, being in perfect alignment with someone else in agreement for specific thing/s that you're praying for, and continue to be in agreement and continue to pray about that specific thing until you have the answer.

So I want you really to think today, who is my person? Or maybe it's multiple people that you can call on to pray with you in agreement for certain things. I encourage you, if you don't have someone and you're like, "I don't know anyone that I can be in perfect agreement with that is actually going to agree with specific scriptures or things that I'm praying for that I can do this prayer with," I encourage you to ask the Lord to send you a godly person that can pray in agreement with you. Also pray to the LORD for Him to open up the hearts of those around you to love Jesus more than anything, and to come to complete agreement with you on scriptures and things that you are praying for in your life. God will give you that person or those people. Trust me, just about a year ago, the Lord had called me to get into Godly community and to get more involved in my church and start going to women's Bible study. I went to the women's silent retreat with my church back in Kentucky, and he had been calling me to do that, but I had no idea that through that I would be here now with my roommate and have someone that is such a prayer warrior to just pray with and be in agreement with.

So praying in agreement is such a powerful prayer. It is such a powerful way to be able to get answers from the LORD, to be able to pray specific scriptures out loud in agreement with someone else or multiple people. So again, I encourage you, if you don't know someone that you can pray in agreement with, ask the LORD to direct you to people and ask the LORD to open up the heart of people to want to pray in agreement with you. He will show you those people. He will put you in with godly community, and then maybe months down the road you'll look around and be like, "Wow, I could have never imagined that the LORD would put these people in my life. One of the strongest agreements is between a husband and wife, but if you're not married, there's definitely other ways to have strong agreements and be able to pray in agreement with other people. Just like with me and my roommate Lauren. We're both single, but we pray in agreement with each other. So God will give you those people to pray in agreement with, just keep in step with the Spirit, ask Him to show you those people, and you also have to get out there and be involved in Godly community. You can't just be sitting in your house expecting the Lord to just drop someone at your doorstep to pray in agreement with you.

So that is it for today's episode. I hope this episode helped you to know what the prayer of agreement is and who to have praying in agreement with you, because it's so important to make sure that people are completely agreeing with you in these specific things and that they don't have any unbelief in the things that you're asking for. I hope that it helped you to know the importance of praying in agreement. All right, I will see you guys next week. Make sure you stay tuned, because we're going to be going over the prayer of binding and loosing next week.

I love you guys so much.
